Will psychotherapy work for me?

We know from decades of research that psychotherapy is a highly effective treatment for a wide range of mental health disorders and emotional/behavioral problems. The more you participate in psychotherapy,the more effective it can be for you.

How long will I need to participate in therapy?

I’m an advocate for therapy being as short-term as possible! The goal of psychotherapy is for the client to learn skills and insights to be able to manage their emotions on their own alongside their support system. The number of sessions varies widely depending on the client and their unique circumstances. My goal for every client is for them to feel well and come back to see me only on an as-needed basis.

What if I cannot afford therapy?

I highly recommend you check with your insurance company about utilizing your out-of-network benefits. I utilize a service available on my website called Mentaya. Mentaya makes it easy to submit claims to your insurance and receive up to 80% reimbursement for services depending on your plan. I am committed to serving all of our communities’ youth and adolescents despite financial barriers. Contact me to ask about receiving services on a sliding scale. Please know if I deny your request for reduced-cost services, it is because the limited slots are already full.
